Introduction:

Vedic literature describes Yajnas for material progress and environmental cleansing. 'Yajna' encompasses all creative activities. Shatpath Brahman states, "यज्ञो वै श्रेष्ठतमं, कर्म," meaning Yajna is of supreme importance. Yajna involves respecting nature's elements, holy souls, and giving. Five compulsory Yajnas for householders are:

  5. Balivaishvadev-Yajna (Serving Dependents)
